Due to the federal government shutdown, SNAP benefits may not be issued on November 1st. This change will impact approximately 145,000 Rhode Islanders, including children, seniors, and working families who rely on this vital support to put food on the table.

RIPIN is here to help Rhode Islanders connect with the information and resources they need.

While all forms of giving make a difference, financial donations have the greatest impact for a few key reasons:

  • Bulk purchasing power: The Food Bank can buy food in large quantities at significantly reduced costs—stretching every dollar further.
  • Flexibility: Cash donations allow the Food Bank to quickly purchase the most-needed items, including fresh produce, protein, and culturally relevant foods.
  • Reduced waste: Financial support helps avoid mismatched or expired donations and ensures families receive nutritious, high-quality food.
  • Operational efficiency: Your dollars also support transportation, storage, and logistics—making sure food gets where it’s needed most, fast.
