To report abuse and serious incidents call the QA hotline: (401) 462-2629
The Quality Assurance (QA) Unit at BHDDH advocates for and protects adults with disabilities when violations occur that may have an adverse effect on an individual’s health, safety, welfare, rights, or quality of life. The services offered are for adults living with an intellectual and/or developmental disability, as well as for disabled individuals between the ages of 18 and 59 who are living in the community.
The Unit operates a 24 hour hotline, seven days per week, 365 days per year. Staff respond to reported incidents of abuse, neglect, mistreatment and financial exploitation, offers help to individuals needing assistance accessing benefits and services, and advocates for additional supports as needed. In addition, QA works in close collaboration with the Department of the Attorney General to report and resolve findings of violations as required under current law, community partners, law enforcement, advocacy groups and state departments.
